we will be helping out NEA with the recycling day.
we are setting up 1 Game Booth and senting in 2 teams for the "tallest Structure" competition
Team A : Sylvan, Charlotte, Sally, Kalthoum and Hassenah
Team B : Ming Xue, Rui Xiang, MichelleWu, Yi Xuan and Shikin
There fore, we need as many Empty Drink Cartons as possible. each team is limited to 500 cartons. Below is the examples of the cartons you can collect.. pls read the rules and regulations below too.
Duration: 2 hours (from 9am to 11am on 23 Sep 06, Recycling Day 2006)
Objective: Teams will compete against each other to build the tallest structure made with the empty drink carton collected using the tools provided by the organizers.
Rules (tentative):
1) Manpower: Not more than 5 members per team
2) Materials: To collect not more than 500 empty drink cartons (various sizes as long as acceptable for recycling, as shown in Figure 1) per team and to assemble them into a free-standing structure at the Recycling Day 2006 event. Teams are expected to bring the collected cartons to the event location by 8am on 23 Sep. The number of cartons will be counted and checked before the competition begins.
3) Tools: 2 ´ 2² Scotch-tapes (each about 45m long), 2 ´ scissors, 2 ´ pen knife will be provided. Teams are not allowed to bring their own tools.
4) Connections: No 2 drink cartons shall be connected before the start of the attempt on Recycling Day 2006 on 23 Sep 06.
5) Structure: The base of the free-standing structure shall not exceed the designate area of about 2.5m ´ 2.5m and must remain standing for at least 30 mins after the end of the attempt, i.e. to remain standing at least until 11:30 noon on 23 Sep.
6) Support: Teams are prohibited from use of any forms of support, including chairs and ladders.
Schedule (tentative):
23 Sep
8:00 - 9:00 Team members arrive and register.
Teams collect tools from the officer. Cartons shall be counted.
9:00 - 11:00 Competition.
11:00 - 11:30 Adjudicators wait to certify the highest standing structure.

yeah, will meet at a earlier time to set up the booth. or maybe the day before.
